What is the significance of your name and number?
How did you get started playing roller derby?
The fabulous Lisa Carr and I were friends (in real life) and she encouraged me to come see a bout. After watching for about 10 minutes, I knew I had to play (even though I couldn’t skate a lick!). I went to the next fresh meat meeting and that was it.
How long have you been skating?
I started “skating” April 2011, but I think it was at least a month ‘til I was actually rolling.
What is your favorite derby position to play?
I really love blocking. It’s more my element, but it’s important to be a well-rounded player so I try not to stay in my comfort zone for too long.
What is your greatest derby achievement so far?
Hands down, getting MVP for the TGT v. Aces bout back in April and becoming the co-captain of the Flying Aces.
What is your favorite part of skating with Sin City Rollergirls?
It’s hard to pick just one thing, but I would have to say being able to experience sharing the love of the sport with so many awesome people is really an amazing thing. It’s unlike anything I’ve been a part of before.
Do you have a derby crush? Who is it?
Every skater has to have a derby crush! Sexy Slaydie & OMG WTF from Gotham Girls Roller Derby are my flava of the month.
What is your day job?
I just finished graduate school with my Specialist’s Degree in Educational Psychology.
What is the strangest thing in your purse or wallet right now?
I don’t typically carry anything out of the ordinary in my purse. The closest thing to “strange” right now would be a box of business cards for the t-shirt company The Proud Atheist (theproudatheist.com), but that’s all I got!
Tell us one thing about yourself that we wouldn't expect...
About five or six years ago I weighed over 250 pounds and lost over 100 pounds through diet and exercise.
