Jackie Reaper #1888

What is the significance of your name and number?

My name is a cross between Jack the Ripper and the grim reaper, both of whom I've always been fascinated with.  My number, 1888, is the year of Jack the Ripper's five canonical murders.

How did you get started playing roller derby?

I'd always been interested in it, but never actually went out to see a bout until after I'd met one of SCRG's skaters, DVS Dicer, on an airplane and she invited me to the season opener.  I went, got hooked, bought my first pair of quads and started rolling.

How long have you been skating?

2 years.

What is your favorite derby position to play?

What is your greatest derby achievement so far?

I think it's a toss-up between being voted in as FAST girl co-captain for Season 7 and being voted Best Sportswoman by the FAST girls for Season 7.  Both honors mean a lot to me.

What is your favorite part of skating with Sin City Rollergirls?

The camaraderie.  I've never had many friends or fit in anywhere, but I feel at home with SCRG and love all my derby sisters.

Do you have a derby crush? Who is it?

Yes!!  Tracy 'Disco' Akers from Denver Roller Dolls' Mile High Club.  She is such an amazing blocker and she moves like a jammer to get where she needs to be.

What is your day job?

Data-entry, more or less, along with tons of emails and phone calls to get other people to take care of their stuff so I can do mine.

Who is the biggest influence in your life?

I'd have to say my family.  I have a few close friends who've been pretty influential in my life as well.

What is the strangest thing in your purse or wallet right now?

A rock - technically it's a worry stone.  It was given to me by one of my derby sisters.

Tell us one thing about yourself that we wouldn't expect...

Hmm..  Well, for a couple of years in middle school/high school, I kind of wanted to be a nun.
