What is the significance of your name and number?
I liked the idea of something small that makes a big explosion! And I’m kind of a dork, so my number 475, is the lowest auto ignition temperature for gasoline, which is what is used in a molotov cocktail.
How did you get started playing roller derby?
I watched a documentary called Brutal Beauty, then googled “roller derby las vegas.” The following week was the league championship bout, and I after I watched, I started planning on how I could get into this.
How long have you been skating?
I have only been really skating for a year.
What is your favorite derby position to play?
Jammer! I kind of think of it as a big game of keep away. It is a huge rush, especially as you learn new tricks.
What is your greatest derby achievement so far?
It’s been a pretty eventful year for me for skating, but I think one of the biggest was when I was able to play my first travel team game with the lovely Black Spade Betties.
What is your favorite part of skating with Sin City Rollergirls?
The camaraderie is definitely incredible. But the other big thing is that there is always someone there to push you to be the best you can be.
Do you have a derby crush? Who is it?
Bonnie Thunders, I get chills whenever I watch her.
What is your day job?
Super, exciting world of commercial insurance.
Who is the biggest influence in your life?
My husband. He calls me on my bullsh*! when I need it , and is my biggest supporter in everything I do. He encourages me, and has the understanding and patience I sometimes lack. He has also gone above and beyond with helping me with derby.
What is the strangest thing in your purse or wallet right now?
I just started carrying a purse, so that in itself is strange, but in my wallet is my DCI card. It’s for MTG tournaments… as I said, I’m a dork.
